Reference applications

Application 1: monitoring of solar radiation, daylight, thermal comfort and weather

In this project, the following instruments were integrated to monitor solar radiation, daylight, thermal comfort and weather:

All instruments were mounted on tripod. Delta Ohm HD35 wireless data loggers were used to record the readings.

For this project, OTM provided full installation and data reporting service.

Application 2: integrated thermal comfort monitoring station

In this project, the following instruments were integrated for thermal comfort monitoring:

All instruments were mounted on a base. Delta Ohm HD35 wireless data loggers were used to record the readings.

The system was designed and integrated by OTM.

Application 3: on-site glass optical & thermal property monitoring system

A system was integrated by OTM for on-site glass optical & thermal property monitoring, with the following instruments:

In additional to system integration, OTM also provided monitoring service with detailed report on project completion.

Application 4: outdoor thermal comfort station with solar panel and cloud service

Shown below is a system integrated by OTM for outdoor thermal comfort measurement:

Below are the key features of the system:

  • Four quantities are measured: air temperature, relative humidity, airflow speed and globe temperature
  • Data logger included
  • With 4G connectivity and cloud service
  • With solar panel
  • Suitable for outdoor 24×7 monitoring
  • The height of the stand is adjustable in the range of 0.9 m to 1.5 m

Application 5: instrument for outdoor micro-environment measurement

Shown below is a system integrated by OTM for outdoor micro-environment measurement:

The system consists of the following components:

  • HD52.3DP17: ultrasonic anemometer for wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, and solar irradiance measurement
  • TP876.1.I: 50 mm globe thermometer
  • HD33MT.4: data logger supporting 4G communication

The data can be exported as *.csv format, for further calculations.

Application 6: LoRaWAN data logging system for outdoor temperature & humidity monitoring

Shown below is a LoRaWAN data logging system deployed by OTM for outdoor temperature & humidity monitoring:

Listed below are the key features of the system:

  • Based on the LoRaWAN technology, the signal coverage is around 1 km in an environment without tall buildings
  • Battery life of data loggers is longer than 2 years
  • Data are automatically uploaded to a cloud. The end users can access the results in real-time.

OTM both supplied the instruments and the provided the installation and maintenance services.
