Product Description

The LPSILICON-PYRA04 Pyranometer is a low-cost solar radiation sensor designed for measuring global solar irradiance using a silicon photodiode.

It offers fast response and simple operation, making it ideal for applications such as solar PV monitoring, solar thermal systems, and general irradiance measurements. The sensor features a cosine-corrected diffuser with 180° field of view, ensuring reliable measurement under direct sunlight conditions.

As a photodiode-based sensor, it provides a more economical alternative to thermopile pyranometers, especially suited for clear-sky conditions and cost-sensitive applications. For higher accuracy in varying spectral conditions (e.g. cloudy skies), thermopile pyranometers are recommended.

Key Features:

  • Low-cost, economical pyranometer for general solar monitoring
  • Silicon photodiode sensor with fast response (<0.5 s)
  • Measures global solar irradiance (0–2000 W/m²)
  • Spectral range: 400 to 1100 nm
  • Cosine-corrected diffuser (180° field of view)
  • High measurement accuracy under clear sky conditions (<3%)
  • Simple analog voltage output
  • Compact design with fixed cable (5 m)
  • Optional levelling base version (PYRA04BL)
  • Rugged IP67 housing for outdoor use
