Shown below is an integrated system for indoor air velocity monitoring, ideal for thermal comfort applications:

The system consists of the following components:

  • HD35APD.E USB dongle base unit
    • Acts as the communication bridge between the wireless data logger and a computer.
  • HD35EDWH.E general-purpose wireless data logger
    • Supports up to 4 analog input channels. Compatible with typical analog signals such as 4–20 mA, PT100, and thermocouples.
  • HD403TS2 omni-directional hot wire anemometer
    • Measures air velocity in the range of 0 – 5 m/s. Suitable for accurate indoor air flow measurement.

The system was integrated by OTM, for easy deployment by the end users. Shown below is a screenshot of the computer software interface:

The ECO 130 is a high-precision, compact thermocouple thermometer made in Germany. It is economically priced and suitable for quick manual measurements, but it does not have a data logging function.

Below is an all-in-one weather station designed for measuring wind (speed and direction), rain, solar radiation, temperature, and humidity:

The instruments were installed on the rooftop deck of a historical building. A 3-meter-tall pole was used for mounting the anemometer.

The weather station operates independently, powered by a 30 W solar panel. Data is automatically uploaded to a cloud server for remote access.

Below is a weather station integrated by OTM for outdoor thermal comfort monitoring:

The station measures the following five environmental parameters:

  • Wind speed and direction
  • Air temperature and humidity
  • Globe temperature

These measurements are used for outdoor thermal comfort analysis, such as calculating the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI). The data is automatically logged by the instruments and uploaded to a cloud server.

The instrument measures barometric pressure and calculates the corresponding altitude. The instrument is very compact, with dimensions 108 mm x 54 mm x 28 mm and a weight of 140 g.

Shown below is an HD51.3DP147 all-in-one anemometer for coastal environment applications. It measures wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and solar irradiance with a single instrument. Multiple output types are supported, and the MODBUS-RTU output is used by most users.

The HD51.3D… series is very similar to the HD52.3D… series. The main advantage is that HD51.3D is more rugged and it satisfies the the requirements of the MIL-STD-810G Method 509.6 and EN ISO 9227:2017 (salt fog anti-corrosion test). For Singapore customers, we recommend this model for applications in coastal environments.

The absolute humidity and wet bulb temperature are calculated from the temperature and relative humidity.

This instrument is great for long-term indoor thermal environment and air quality monitoring. The instrument is powered by USB, and it is possible to be powered by standard phone chargers or power banks.
