A Modbus-based soiling monitoring system for measuring dust-related performance losses in solar PV systems.
| Datasheet |
Product Description
The MDFS2-S PV Soiling Monitoring System helps solar plant operators accurately determine when cleaning is required by measuring the impact of dust and dirt on panel performance.
It uses two temperature-compensated reference cells (clean and dirty) to compare solar radiation and calculate soiling losses (attenuation %). This enables data-driven decisions to optimise maintenance schedules and maximise energy yield.
With Modbus RTU output, the MDFS2-S integrates easily into SCADA systems and data loggers such as the METEODATA-4000, allowing automatic monitoring, analysis, and verification of cleaning effectiveness.
Key Features:
- Dual reference cells (clean vs dirty) for direct soiling comparison
- Calculates soiling loss (attenuation %) for performance analysis
- Modbus RTU output for easy SCADA and system integration
- Temperature-compensated measurements for stable accuracy
- Measurement range up to 1400 W/m²
- Supports automatic monitoring with data loggers (e.g. METEODATA-4000)
- Enables optimisation of PV cleaning schedules and maintenance planning
- Provides confirmation of cleaning effectiveness and operational status
